Powders & Foams

POWDERS

General Purpose (MAP)

  • Contains Mono Ammonium Phosphate (MAP) and Ammonium Sulphate (AS)
  • Class of fires: A, B and C (general purpose fires)
  • Available in MAP : 35%, and 90%

BC Regular

  • Based on Sodium Bicarbonate
  • Class of Fires: B and C (multipurpose fires)

D-Class Powder

Based on Sodium Chloride
Class of Fires: D (metal based fires)

Purple K

  • Based on Potassium Bicarbonate
  • Recommended for high risk industries (chemical and petrochemical)
  • Class of Fires: B and C (flammable liquids, oils, gases and chemical based fires)

FOAMS

There are two foam categories:

  • Based on Potassium Bicarbonate
  • Recommended for high risk industries (chemical and petrochemical)
  • Class of Fires: B and C (flammable liquids, oils, gases and chemical based fires)

.

Centa’s AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) provides a film barrier that prevents the fire from spreading. Centa Fire Fighting Foams do not contain Fluoroprotein (FP) which is ineffective against hydrocarbon fires.

The difference between Centa’s Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) vs Fluoroprotein (FP) Foams

Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF)

1. Foam is sprayed on the fire
2. Foam controls the oxygen
3. A film forms beneath the foam and covers the flammable liquid
4. The film cools the combustible fuel, and isolates the liquid from gas
5. Film stops the formation of flammable vapor, controls heat and burn back
6. Foam drains into the film
7. Water cools the liquid

Foams we can supply:
